Interview with Horst Veith – Serial Inventor Dragnet search for market niches.
                                                           
The question posed most often to serial inventor with over 100 patents, Horst Veith is: „What gave you that idea?“ There is no universally valid answer to this. Inventions can develop from a plan, from a flash of thought, out of necessity or as a result of research. The method that Horst Veith developed of searching for market niches by dragnet investigation and occupying those with inventions is particularly successful.

Which market niches have you found by dragnet investigation up to now?
The cleaning of mattresses! This was like the discovery of a comet. In this case all preconditions were given, a great demand, because all mattresses are dirty. A future venture, a service capable of developing to gigantic dimensions.

What was the basis for such a project?
First it had to be established to which extent mattresses actually are soiled. Large scale investigations came up with a disastrous result. 87 % of all examined mattresses were over the hygienic limit. Apart from various defilements, the house dust mites respectively their excrements have been a major hygiene and health risk. To put it in a nut shell…. Mankind is lying in mites` excrements!
The basic requirements were: dry cleaning, chemical-free, environmentally friendly, and harmless for people and animals, to be used on the spot as a service for all types of mattresses with great effectiveness at an affordable price.

And what does the result of this sensational invention look like?
A cleaning system was developed, which served all those aforesaid requirements. Numerous scientific examinations certify its effectiveness. International patents confirm the uniqueness of this invention.

The Potema cleaning system has a vague similarity to a vacuum cleaner, what is different?
The Potema mattress cleaning system has barely anything in common with the commonly known vacuum cleaner. Its cleaning effectiveness is based on high frequency oscillations, close to the ultrasound level, a regulated vacuum and disinfection by means of UVC, a method used in the medical field.
The outcome of a cleaning is alarming, up to 250 grams of dirt, mostly excrements of mites, are removed from a single mattress. Imagine that every movement on the mattress will raise this dirt which is then not only distributed in the room but also inhaled. The consequences are an urge to sneeze, reddened eyes und quite frequently a so-called house dust allergy, which you cannot get rid of for the rest of your life.

What are the procedures of the cleaning process?
The respective service business will come to your house, hotel, or home. Initially a test cleaning with laboratory analysis will take place. This is free of charge, since it has to be established, to which extent a cleaning is necessary. If the client opts for a cleaning order, the main cleaning will take about 20 minutes, whereby the mattress can remain in the bed. Subsequently this is followed by biological spray disinfection for mattress freshness and to prevent any further population of the house dust mite, so to say like the anti-baby pill.

How often should this cleaning procedure be applied?
In the private sector a cleaning every 12 – 24 months is sufficient. Between those cleaning intervals we recommend using the Potema mattress clean spray at every change of bed linen. Thus a high level of hygiene standard can be attained. The cleaning is certified by a seal of approval, which shows the next due date for cleaning.

How is this service working worldwide?
Nowadays there is a dense net of Potema service stations in many countries of the world, in Egypt too. Moreover, Turkey has set regulations for mattress cleaning in hotels. Medium-term we expect the same measures for other countries.
