On Open Day of the German School on March 6th, the school had the great honour of welcoming his Excellency, the German Ambassador Mr. Bock, Mrs. Reiffenstuel from the Cultural Department of the German Embassy in Cairo, Mr. Römelt from the Central Office for Schools Abroad located in Cologne as well as Mr. Ely, the German Vice Consul in Hurghada.
On this special day all the objects and results of the DSH "rubbish and environment" project week were presented. The nursery and preschool children worked on the topic "from the sea" and the primary and secondary school showed objects and results based on the theme "rubbish and environment". Students in all the classes explained their projects to the parents and interested visitors.
The highlight of the day was the stage program showing a wide variety from all groups and classes; a “Hula Bombers Dance”, a Karate performance, a “recycled-rubbish fashion show” and lots more. The German School Hurghada’s famous theater club presented a short version of their latest theater play, “Rumpelstiltskin” - the well-known fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm.
