On 8th of September the first baptizing was held in the German Honorary Consulate at the guest house “Living with Art” in Hurghada.
Reverend Fr. Joachim Schroedel (German Catholic Mission, rector and delegate of the German Bishops’ Conference) was invited to Hurghada by Honorary Consul Pater Ely to performed the 1st ever baptizing in the consulate grounds. The privileged child was Lilliana Iskandar, born on the 25.04.2010 to Sonja M. Ragheb and Rameh Iskandar. Sonja’s brother Maik Ragheb had the honour of fulfilling the important role of godfather. Also present were Tony Iskander, Lilliana’s grandfather as well as Hanka Vojnikova and Adam Magdy, friends of the family. The celebration took place in the courtyard of the guesthouse “Living with Art” and Rev Schroedel, with his unique humour, made it an unforgettable event.
