Evangelical Hurghada Church
The Evangelical Hurghada Church (EHC) was founded 2008 and is the first evangelical church in the Red Sea area. The church community is growing day by day and has members from many nationalities and cultures, speaking many different languages.
The vision that Pastor M.N. Gabra and his German wife Eva, who studied theology and is vicar in Wuppertal, have is to develop the evangelical community in Hurghada into a community of love and acceptance. Both of them love the life in the Red Sea and truly participate in people's lives, being with them in times of happiness and sadness. They see it as a huge challenge to deal with people from different back grounds, with different experiences in life, a different theology and different cultures. They are convinced that Hurghada is a particulary good place to learn how to accept other people and benefit from one another. Pastor Gabra and his wife feel that living here and serving the evangelical community is what truly enriches their life.
A further objective of the church is to work together in developing our society. One of their priorities is the battle against illiteracy, poverty and sickness. The church has already started working with children in need, for example with street kids, impoverished and sick children, to give them hope in their lives and a chance for a better future. With the “Christmas bag” project the pastor and his wife deliver the message of Christmas in their giving love to those children, by visiting them and bringing them a “Christmas bag” containing clothes, toys and sweets. Currently they are looking out for sponsors for an educational and health care project for these children in need.
Everyone is invited to visit the services in the church. There are two services monthly which are held on the first and third Friday of the month at 8:00 p.m. Services are translated into English and German.
Address: Good Shepherd Association/ Ebrahim Khairy Atriss Street/ El Wafaa/ El Dahar/Hurghada.
